Usenet

Download Station

This is typically apart of the Synology NAS platforms. It's a downloader for DSM that can handle Torrents and NZB's, however, it does NOT have an API system for application integration. Basically, it what is know as a "black hole" download application. Lidarr will put the nzb,torrent file in specific directory, and Download Station will scan that directory time to time, and pickup the file to be downloaded in that directory. Once the download is completed, DS will put the completed files in the specified direction and those will get picked back up by Lidarr for processing.

NZBGet

Usenet Blackhole

This is a method that Lidarr uses to allow you the user to select any application you want to use as your Usenet downloader. Lidarr will drop the NZB into a directory. This directory should the 'watch' directory of your application of choice to pick up the NZB file. Applications that have been around for awhile, such as Newzleecher, or NewsBinPro, or Grabit that have NZB supported download. Other apps such as Nyuu, News Rover, or Binary News Assistance that don't have NZB support, won't work.
